Five Steez Returns With Seven-Track ‘Re:Emergence’ EP

Kingston MC Five Steez has returned with a new seven-track EP titled “Re:Emergence,” reconnecting with listeners after a quieter period in his recording career.

The project pairs Five Steez with Atlanta-based producer Chosen One, who produced, mixed and mastered the entire release. Their connection stretches back more than a decade, beginning online through SoundCloud before developing in person when Chosen One visited Jamaica and linked with Five Steez and members of The Council.

“Re:Emergence” is led by the singles “Keep It Blazing” and “Strait Darts.” Across the project, Five Steez balances the confident lyricism associated with his earlier work with more reflective material examining his current stage of life and career.

The title reflects that transition. Five Steez has explained that other priorities required more of his attention in recent years, but the EP marks the beginning of a more active creative period.

Chosen One’s involvement also extends an existing connection with The Council. The producer previously worked with Nomad Carlos on “The Extreme Path,” making “Re:Emergence” another project linking him with Jamaica’s independent hip-hop community.

The EP is now available across major streaming and purchase platforms, including Five Steez’s Bandcamp page. For a Kingston MC whose catalogue has developed outside the dominant dancehall and reggae lanes, “Re:Emergence” signals a deliberate return to regular releases and new material.
