The World Creole Music Festival begins tonight, October 23, at Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Roseau, Dominica, launching a three-night programme that brings Jamaican reggae and dancehall together with bouyon, kompa, soca and other Caribbean sounds.
The festival runs through Sunday, October 25. Organisers’ official website confirms the dates and venue, while the published 2026 lineup places Jamaican performers Capleton and Skillibeng on Friday’s bill.
Jamaican acts across the weekend
Friday’s opening programme pairs Capleton and Skillibeng with Haitian kompa group Klass, Maurane Voyer, TK International, Midnight Groovers and Dominican performers. The lineup makes the first night especially relevant to Jamaican music audiences, but the wider event is not exclusively a reggae or dancehall festival.
Saturday’s announced artists include Alkaline, Ne-Yo, Tabou Combo and Dominican bouyon performer Asa Bantan, alongside additional regional acts. Sunday’s advertised closing-night programme features Trinidad and Tobago soca star Machel Montano, reggae singer Maxi Priest, South African DJ Uncle Waffles and other Caribbean and international performers.
Lineups and running orders may change; attendees should check the official organiser’s updates rather than relying on a previously circulated flyer.
More than a concert bill
The World Creole Music Festival is held during Dominica’s Independence season and showcases music traditions that connect the French- and English-speaking Caribbean. The three-day format offers a platform for Dominican performers alongside established international names.
For Jamaican and Canadian-Caribbean audiences, the programme illustrates how reggae and dancehall now share major regional stages with bouyon, kompa, soca, R&B and newer club sounds. It also gives Caribbean listeners a chance to discover artists outside their usual music feeds.
