Jamaican producer Eastern Entertainment Promotions is preparing to introduce Smooth Thoughts riddim on Friday, October 16, with Sizzla and Chronic Law among the artists featured on the project.

The multi-artist production also brings together Skippa, Nation Boss, Silk Boss, Shawn Storm, Karnage, Hot Turbine, Lisa Hyper and Krish Fullforce. The release is designed to showcase different voices over a shared rhythm while offering listeners a more reflective musical atmosphere.

Two years in development

Speaking to the Jamaica Observer, Judah Nugent of Eastern Entertainment Promotions said the rhythm took approximately two years to complete. Coordinating recording schedules across a large group of performers was among the reasons for the lengthy process.

Rather than assembling artists with identical approaches, the production team sought a variety of musical perspectives. The intention, Nugent explained, was to give each performer space for their own style while retaining an identifiable sound across the project.

A reflective direction for dancehall

While some modern dancehall projects are built around high-intensity party anthems, Smooth Thoughts was conceived for a different listening experience. Its concept emphasizes personal experiences, reflection and music audiences can spend time with beyond the dance floor.

The release campaign is also expected to include the premiere of Chronic Law’s official video for Streets, planned for the same day as the riddim. That coordinated rollout is intended to introduce listeners to the wider selection of tracks and participating artists.

What’s next for Eastern Entertainment Promotions

Founded in 2012, Eastern Entertainment Promotions has worked across Jamaican music production and live entertainment. Its earlier projects include the Heaven Gates riddim.

The company is also preparing for another Eastern Extravaganza event on January 1, 2027. More details about that production are expected separately.

At the time of reporting, Smooth Thoughts was scheduled to reach digital music services, subject to final distribution arrangements. Platform availability should be checked directly before listeners are told the full project is streaming.

Madd A Road Media will continue following new reggae and dancehall releases from Jamaica and the wider Caribbean music community.
